My dearest friends… I have been absolutely inundated with requests to adopt Brave Heart over the past months. The messages have gotten to be so many that I have made the decision to turn off the “Message” button of the SHF Facebook page. My goal all along has been to help animals in most need of help, and I cannot do this while answering 100’s of adoption inquires for the same pup. I understand that Brave Heart’s story has touched many hearts and I am incredibly grateful for the many adoption inquiries we have received. As I have replied to the inquires, I will also reply here… “Brave Heart is not up for adoption at this time. Brave Heart still has a pending surgery which will hopefully open an airway in his nasal passage. I am considering all options before putting him through this surgery and will not be rushed into make a decision. Brave Heart has come so far and I, as his rescuer, need to give him the time he needs to fully heal. Once Brave Heart is fully healed from his next and hopefully last surgery I will post that we are accepting adoption interest. I will get to know potential adopters through correspondence and meetings. I do NOT and will NOT ever send my animals into homes that they have not been previously introduced to. This not only creates unnecessary stress on the animal, it literally sets them up for failure. Please keep in mind that some of these cases have rehabilitated with me for months and have become family members. I must look out for them and place them in the homes that offer the best fit.” Thank you for your understanding.
